BIKES & SKATES - NEW YORK, US

RIDE BROOKLYN

Ride Brooklyn opened in May 2009 on Bergen St. in Park Slope, Brooklyn, with the intention of being a friendly neighborhood bike shop with a wide range of products and experience, without all the attitude. Its top priority is ensuring the quality of your overall experience, whether you're a seasoned racer or first time commuter.

In October of 2012, Ride Brooklyn opened a second location on the Williamsburg waterfront at North 7th and Kent ave. This new shop is larger and stocks a wide range of all the same products. You will receive the same great service and prices at either location.

Each location is staffed with small teams of individuals dedicated to changing the stigmas associated with bicycle retail sales and service experiences.

Also part of the Ride Brooklyn Family is Skate Brooklyn, where you can find a mini-ramp for testing new boards, as well as snowboard sales and service during the winter.  In addition to its wide range of products, Ride Brooklyn has a full repair shop staffed by expert mechanics as well as a computraining studio and computerized Guru Experience bicycle fittings. Ride Brooklyn sponsors Kissena Cycling Club, Brookyln Tri Club, GS Mengoni Cycling Team, as well as the Brooklyn Bike Park in Williamsburg.

MICHAEL PERRY

Michael began his career as a rehabilitation sales representative  For 8 years, he worked closely with a wide range of clients, from those with spinal cord injures to seniors wanting to remain home in a safe and independent environment. His work included assessing clients for specialized medical equipment with a team of physical and occupational therapists. During his rehabilitation sales work, Michael felt he could make a greater impact by applying his skills and care through a hands-on approach.

In 1998, Michael began a course of studies in massage therapy at the New Hampshire Institute of Therapeutic Arts in Bridgton, Maine. After completing 750 hours of massage theory and practice in 1999, Michael opened a massage therapy business in South Portland, Maine. In the summer of 2000, Michael moved to Provincetown MA. Since that time he has been practicing therapeutic massage on a year-round basis. In the winter of 2002, Michael traveled to Thailand and Vietnam where he completed a course in traditional Thai massage at Lek Chaiya School of Thai Massage in Chiang Mai.
